Before the start of the school holidays I went to the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast for 2 weeks. First we went to the Gold Coast.
We went to 3 theme parks, Wet'n'Wild, Movie World and Sea World. My favorite was Sea World then wet'n'wild then Movie World.
After we had been to the Gold Coast we then went up to the Sunshine Coast. When we went up there we had a really cool hotel, you could go for walks around the lake and in the lake there were inflatable things that you could play on.
We went to Australia Zoo. It was really fun with heaps of cool things to do.
We also went to the Emondi Markets where we got some dounuts with filling in them. Yummy! Then we had to sadly go home. I will always remember that trip.

Do YOU Have A Job? by Rose

At Donuts-in-Training Superhero School, there are dozens of donuts that graduate early and go on to be successful donuts/superheroes, that gain many powers and even have faithful sidekicks. That's just the thing we're looking for.
Sidekicks! Interviews will be in the schools auditorium on Saturday 5th November, 3:30-5:30 PM. If you make it through, we will make sure that you will not be turned into human food at Dunkin' Donuts.

On The Beach

When I was walking on the soft, cold, smooth sand I heard the sound of the crashing waves. The sun was rising.  It had all sorts of colours mixed together like pinks, oranges and reds. The freezing water was flowing over my feet. What a lovely day at the beach.

Hunting for a cat

In the holidays I went to Christchurch.My Auntie said there was a big wild cat up a big hill.So we sharpened a stick and our uncle took us to the top of the hill.We asked some people if they have seen the cat, some said they heard sheep being hurt.We asked this farmer if his sheep had been disappearing. He said no but they are dieing.Then we heard a sheep crying we ran to the scene. We were about to go right way but our uncle said it was up the hill.We walked and walked through mud. We got to the top and there were no sheep.We were all really grumpy. We started walking back down the hill the other side.We found a road with snow on it. We started having a snow ball fight, it stopped when I threw a piece of ice at Jim.We walked along the road. I touched the wire next to me and it was an electric wire.Luckily I didn't get hurt.

At school we have been learning how to turn improper fractions into mixed fractions. An improper fraction is when the numerator is bigger then the denominator an example is 18/4=4 2/4. I got that by going how many quarters are in 18 there are 4 and there are two left over so I turn into 2/4 and the answer is 4 2/4.

Horse Riding Alexandra

Horse riding is so much fun. I go to Maree Green horse riding school in Kumeu.
I learn so much about riding and horses there. I ride a cute little pony called Ty. I go every second Sunday .
 At horse riding you learn lots of skills on horse back such as walk, trot, canter, jumping and also how to control your horse.
There are over 15 horses at riding and each one is different. Here are some: Mey a chestnut mare, Pretty a Clydesdale cross mare and Ty, my favourite, is a thoroughbred Cross Welsh Pony Gelding. They are all so cute! I normally ride Ty but I have also ridden Cookie, a dun and Tommy a grey gelding. Recently the riding school got a new horse called Flash. He is so cute and is a chestnut gelding.
Horse riding is so much fun you should try it. All this is why I love horses and riding.

The light goes to shadows and the dark comes. I'm frightened out of my skin, I don't know what's going to happen, suddenly  Boom Bam Crash!  I hear cries and screams. I crawl onto the battle field. Suddenly I see blood driping from my arm, my leg and worst of all my head. I'm thinking this will be the end. As I walk forwards I fall into a shell hole, when I hear some weeping and then I see a German. Sorry I landed in the wrong place. Then there were no more gun shots heard. Yay its the end of the war. Then I realised the German was pointing his gun at me. I quickly jumped out of the shell hole, that was a close one. We soon went back on the ships and back home.

The Freakishly Large Slice of Swiss Cheese Sneak Peek by Rose

It was a rainy day. Thunder was shaking the neighborhood. Hail was pelting windows. A lonely slice of Swiss Cheese was lying on the ground, sobbing, by the trash can. He missed the two bread slices that he was once contained in. They had long since been taken away in the garbage truck. Ralph, the cheese, had been left alone, to mould. Ralph felt empty, and forgotten. He felt like no one in the world cared about anything except themselves. But that was before the incident.
Ralph woke with a start. He sat up, stretched, and waddled over to Madam Maxime's Marvelous Magical Teashop. If you've heard the name, you'll know that Madam Maxime is the Headmistress Of Beauxbatons. Or at least used to be. She got sacked for giving her horses whiskey and calling Professor Dumbledore Dumblydore. Oh, and also for being seen with Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper, because Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were competing in the Triwizard  Tournament.

My Holiday by Kayne

In the holidays I went to the skids holiday program at grey Lynn school.So on Friday we did clip and climb to do some extreme rock climbing. First I climb up the big King Kong tower.Then I had to race one of the staff and guess what I WON!!!!!!!!.But then it was morning tea and I didn't have morning tea because I had five dollars so I bought an ice block that was yummy and sweet.Then we went climbing again, but sadly I had to sit out while everyone was climbing so I started to cry to god.Then we went on the bus to the park and man it was chilly.Then it was lolly time and I had money so I bought nerds, they are so sweet. Then it was time to go back home to skids then it was time to go home to have dinner and go to sleep.

It was Tuesday, the sun was up and our stomachs were bubbling with excitement as our cars traveled across the rocky road.
The cars pulled up at "Maree Green Equestrian Horse Riding Club"
(where we go for horse riding lessons).
The welcoming smell of horse lay muffled in the air.
The small nickers from ponies and horses continued to echo around the stables.
We went to find our ponies
Ty an adorable grey (white), thoroughbred cross welsh pony glending!
And Pretty a breath-taking Bay Clydesdale Cross Mare (Mare= Female Horse). 
Once we had caught them and tied them up at their stable we got to work with the curry comb and got to work on their bodies.
In no time we had them tacked up and ready to ride. Now the worst part we have to have morning tea before we ride... Boo.
We walked, trotted, cantered and jumped and soon the horses were tired and sweaty.
We took them back to the stables and made their lunch, we handed ii to them and enjoyed our own lunch. After we had eaten our lunch and had waited for the horses and ponies to finish theirs and we set up some jumps and went and got our horses ready to go.
Soon we were warming down our horses. We were lucky enough to remove the saddle and warm them down BARE-BACK.
It was an awesome day but the best part was doing it together

Our first game was against Pt Chev. It wasn't the greatest of starts. The score was a 5-1 loss. The goal for Grey Lynn was scored By Shaan in the first 10 seconds.

Goalscorers For Grey Lynn : Oliver

We only had a 5 minute break after that match then we played a  Herne Bay Marist team.. The score was a 1-0 win with Oliver skilling the keeper, then scoring having a 100% chance of scoring which he did.

Score 4-0

We had another 5 minute break then we played Westmere 2. That game was a great one winning 4-0. Shaan scored 3 goals. Ty scored the other goal.

After our loss we played Westmere 1 and had a really good game. We won 5-2 for our final pool game. The goal scorers were Shaan scoring 2 and Oliver, Finn and Harvey scoring the others. There was a horn making  a noise for full-time and I had the ball and the ref didn't blow his whistle for end of match and I ran with the ball skilling every defender and scoring. After Shaan goal we were celebrating that we won.

We were versing  Kadimah. Their team wasn't good at all demolishing them 19-0. We had hat-tricks from Finn and Shaan scoring 4 and the other hat-tricks were by Harvey and Oliver scoring 3. Lucien, Ethan, Praful, Joseph and Red scored the other goals.Ty also did an epic goalkeeper run and scored

Grey Lynn VS Te Huruhi

Score 1-2

After our massive win we had an extended break for 25 minutes and then we had a bye and then we played against Waiheke side Te Huruhi. That was one of the toughest games we had played yet with a 2-1 loss. Lucian scored the goal. If we drew then we could've made to the finals if Te Huruhi lost to Pt Chev.

Overall

By the shred of paper we just didn't make it to the plate final but we finished 3rd in Pool A and 5th out of the 12 schools. Ty finished with 2 Goals and Player Of The day. We had a great day and then we went back to school arriving at quarter  past 1 in the afternoon.

I am evilly writing to you about the job advertised on trade me, 12 June. I remove candy from babies hands. But no, no, no I do much more than that. There was two sisters named Amber and  Charlotte and there parents were away for the weekend .
Amber and charlotte wanted to explore the grave yard behind there house,because it was supposed
to be haunted.
When they opened the back door it creaked and mist fell over them the girls were terrified but they just kept on going,when they stepped outside the door slamed behind them.'' It was just the wind'' Amber said . Amber wanted to make herself feel better she ate one of her crisps cheesy flavour. When Amber finished scoffing the cracker down she felt better, then they started to walk further
into the grave yard when a black crow started to  stare at them like the were not meant to be there.
Once they got further into the grave yard there started to be more curious, what could be so bad they wanted to keep them out. Chalotte said ."Who is that person over there". But Amber couldn't see any -thing . What if this place was haunted and there was a sign saying leave now.

The Final

The fans push to the front. All the tvs were on. The day came the final Germany vs Argentina.Fans from all around the world from the east to west. Kick off, the whistle went for the 20th world cup final. People were buying tops with Messi or Muller  on the back,and food before the game started. I woke up at 5,30 am and prepped as i turned on the tv. i thought to myself . Netherlands were out so who was i going to support . I thought  agentania. I was on my edge of my seat and i counted 30 mins without a goal… goal  yay what no goal you got to be ceding me its going it exer time. ahw germany are having a sub stout Mario Gotze on for Kloser. 15 mins no goal next half of exer time. OWH suller is running fast down the wing, no gozer is not marked.i remember i was in a weird slow motion effect.  it hit the chest and vollied into the goal .no i walked silently in to my room but i run back up. Messi got a free kick can he i said to myself .He has but this might be too hard for him, the best goalkeeper vs the best player in the world … he missed my face fell and i turned off my tv and cried maybe next world cup in Russia to get them back.
